The vessel is built for both space and comfort and features an air conditioned saloon with two large sofas, dining tables and everything you need for entertainment including a sound system & a large flatscreen TV for kicking back and hiding from the shade in what will be your lounge room for the duration of your trip.
At the rear of the boat is a huge deck area covered in UV-protective shade cloth where you can watch the action in the water, or head up to the top deck for a 360-degree view of the beautiful Banyak Islands.

Local knowledge is important up in the Banyaks, swell direction can wager whether it will be flat in one of the regions or if you will be scoring 6ft pumping pits at Treasure Island & Cobras or whether the swell direction may be perfect for that spot that Mick knows will be pumping while the other spots are shutting down.
The Banyaks receive most of it’s swells from storms deep down in the Indian Ocean which fire consistently during the dry season of April till October, but some don’t know these swell still exist during the shoulder season months, during October -February you still get good swells with not many crew around and early season March – May fires also.
The Banyaks are in a great off peak destination (Oct – Feb) as the winds are calm and variable with no wet season trades winds, no howling norwesters like down in Bali. This is mainly due to The Banyaks close proximity to the equator so it’s uncommon to have non surfing days due to winds, unless a rare storm rare comes through (similar to a cyclone) you are scoring sheet glass perfection with no one around during this time of year.
As on any surf trip in any part of the world you are in the hands of mother nature but on this trip you are also in the hands of The Seriti crew who has everything under control for you, making sure you score the best of whats on offer in the Banyak islands
Running on 3 x 525hp Detriot V12 turbo intercooled main engines which run at a maximum speed of 15 knots while cruising at 10-12 knots The Seriti is ready to get you where you need to be, inside perfect barrels.
The vessel is fully decked out with all the safety equipment needed including EPIRB, life jackets, life rafts, CO2 emergency fire system, smoke detectors, sat phone, a 10,000 litre fresh water tank, SSB & VHF radios.
The Seriti operates out of the port of Lahewa on Nias. A full transfer service from Kuala Namu International Airport in Medan is available. All surfbanyak charters run for 10 surfing days (12 days total), departing on Monday evening and returning on Friday morning. Guests arriving in Medan must do so before 9am on departure date, and cannot leave Medan before 5pm on date of return.

The food was always going to be tasty on the Seriti with Mick being a former cafe owner and food enthusiast. Mick carefully created a varied menu with local and western dishes catering from the meat eater to the vegetarian. There’s plenty of fish on the menu being up in the the banyaks and if your a keen fisherman you might even be the one catching your own dinner
If you are trying to fly straight through to the boat on date of departure please be in Medan no later than 8am this day.
