There is still a place where time forgot. Where the crowds haven’t yet reached, where the guidebooks haven’t ruined, where local children splash and play in a pristine lagoon lapping at golden sands just inside of an empty, funneling righthander. Indeed, on the lesser-known island of Savaii, a short ferry ride from Upolu, Western Samoa, a road leads to a lost corner of the earth called Aganoa. Here, at Aganoa, lies a surfer’s — and non-surfer’s — paradise. A consistent, world-class reefbreak peels into a channel just 50 yards in front of a restaurant perched at the sea. A gentle, idyllic lagoon lined with a picture-perfect beach hugs the verdant, manicured grounds in seemingly endless and fragrant bloom.
Eight airy, newly-renovated and self-contained fales (bungalows) doze near the sea. While primarily Aganoa caters to surfers (only 8 at a time) seeking its guaranteed uncrowded waves, Aganoa — like Savaii itself — is also the perfect place for the family. With an array of activities from kayaking, fishing, snorkeling and more, both on-site and island-wide, Aganoa is a stress-free destination without the exorbitant price tag that most camps of this caliber attach. Couple that with Samoa’s beautiful Polynesian culture and people — and you may never want to return home…With empty waves just outside your fale, in this private piece of Eden surrounding your companion or family, it’s not hard to see how — thankfully — time forgot about Aganoa. And moreover, how easy it is to forget about time.

Aganoa Right – A supremely consistent wave, which breaks right out the front of the Lodge. This wave can handle anything from 2 foot to 10 foot. The wedging peaks offer super fun wackable walls, as well as trip making tube sections.
Aganoa Left – Just across from the right, you’ll find the left, simple really. What the left does is more dependant on swell direction, but can offer an epic barrel section. The beauty of the these two waves is they’re right out the front, so you can pick the absolute best conditions.
K-Land – Located 30 minutes from Aganoa is Samoa’s version of the famed G-Land. Often the resemblance is uncanny, and between 4 and 12 foot, this waves can be a dream. Hollow barrels and long rippable walls await you.
Middles – This is a sick little peak that breaks just over from K-Land. It’s a really fun time out here, and with just your mates with you, you’ll be hooting and throwing out high fives all day long. Just across the channel is a super fun little right hander also.
Pastor Point – A softer, long right hander, suitable for any skill level, perfect if you just want to have a chilled session, or you want to take a beginner out to have a go.
Secret Spots – There are a bunch of secret spots around this area, that the Lodge still want to keep secret. There are many waves mainly accessible by boat, and are not visible from shore, and then there are waves which require a bit of a drive. The guides will take you to these waves, but don’t be offended if they offer you a blind fold to wear for the journey, secrecy is taken seriously here.
Situated lagoon-side in a protected pocket at the edge of a rain forest preserve, Aganoa Lodge Samoa is located on a five-acre parcel with exclusive access to a 180 meter white sand beach. Access to the property is only possible via a gated entrance and a mile-long single lane lava track. The Lodge is comprised of a newly constructed common area featuring a restaurant, bar, and large private deck perched at the water’s edge and directly in front of Aganoa Right, a highly consistent wave (240+ days of ridable surf per year) to which guests enjoy exclusive access.
